Family Planning Surgeries
What is Family Planning ?
Family Planning enables parents to strive to have the perfect number of children, if any, and to calculate the best pregnancy spacing. Regardless of their circumstances or desire to have children, Family Planning has benefited countless women and families, whether it is done deliberately or unconsciously. The most efficient and extensively used form of contraception available today is sterilisation. After the desired family size has been reached, it is frequently the best contraceptive option. Both tubal ligation in women and vasectomy in men are one-time operations that are secure, affordable, and manageable for a qualified individual. Before making any decisions, clients need to get appropriate counselling since voluntary surgical contraception (VSC) treatments are nearly usually irreversible.
What are different types of Family Planning Surgeries ?
Vasectomy : Men who want permanent contraception can get a vasectomy. Cutting and closing the vasa deferentia are required (the tubes that carry sperm from the testes). It takes a urologist around 20 minutes to perform a vasectomy in their office, and just a local anaesthetic is needed. A part of each vas deferens is removed by a little incision on each side of the scrotum, and the open ends of the tubes are sealed shut.
Tubectomy : For women to use permanent contraception, a surgical operation is required to destroy the fallopian tubes, which transport the egg from the ovaries to the uterus. Alternatively, the fallopian tubes might be entirely removed. Pregnancy is impossible if the fallopian tubes are totally removed. Permanent contraception can be implemented as elective surgery, during a caesarean birth, or one to two days following a vaginal delivery. Hysterectomy, the surgical removal of the uterus, also leaves the patient sterile. Instead of being used as a method of contraception, this surgery is typically used to treat a problem.
Family planning is important even if you don’t want to have children, whether you’re looking for a contraceptive technique that works for you or keeping track of your period. After all, family planning advocates for giving everyone the option to choose not to have children.
